Heather, Estelle, and Lena spend Friday afternoon making 4th of July tie dye t-shirts and having some face painting.
On Saturday, the 4th, Wayne and I take a bike ride on back roads and plan it so that we meet up with everyone at the parade in Barton at 2:00

The "red," white, and blue tie dye t-shirts turned out more like pink, white, and blue, but it was still fun. I was pleased that Wayne and Cole were really interested in making them as well.
Lena and Cole at the parade.
Gathering candy.
Joanie bought some home grown strawberries from Spike's veterinarian.
Bread and Puppet making a statement. About what? We don't know.
Barbecue at Joanie's house.
Then, Sunday morning, the Echo Lake Color Challenge.
Best Cousins Forever
Joanie, Julie, Estelle, Lena, Heather, and I walked the 5k, while Cole chose to run it. He's at the left of this group. (Wes and Wayne were participating in the bottle drive to raise money for the 8th grade class trip. They don't know where they're going yet, but the fundraising starts early.)
At the finish.
It was a fun and colorful holiday weekend.
