Last week Wayne and Cole had their school concert.
Above, pumpkins singing "Harvest Time."
I didn't take any videos, but in the photo below, the first grade is singing a song about a runaway pancake. There were some dance moves involved, and in addition to singing, each student had a speaking line. In the song, the pancake makes its way to the White House. Cole's line had him speaking as President Obama, "I LOVE pancakes. Let's make them national heros." He did a great job. He spoke loudly and clearly into the microphone. He was the best. I will add this disclaimer: when I sent him off to meet up with his classmates and music teacher, his tie was straight and his shirt was tucked in. I don't know what happened in the meatime to cause this dishevelment, but I still think he's the most handsome. Look at him, cool as a cucumber. Zephyr, back there in the bow tie, is also quite dapper.

Wayne and his third grade class sang a haunting Navajo song. Wayne looks handsome as can be too.
Earlier in the evening, before we left for the concert, posing with this year's Thanksgiving Tree.
This is one of Heather's Thankful leaves. It says, "I'm thankful for my new friend, Cameron."
This morning, Cameron and his sister Grace came over for a playdate.
They had snacks and played foosball.
This is Grace. She's just about the cutest thing ever.
That brings us pretty much up to date. We're all looking forward to the Thanksgiving break and having Thanksgiving dinner at Joanie's house. Yum!

Enjoyed the pictures of the boys in their school show. I agree both Wayne and Cole look very handsome. Also, I couldn't get over how long Heather's hair was in the first picture of her with C and W. But then, in a later picture of Heather with her new friend, her hair looked short again. Perhaps it was just up in a pony tail?
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving Darlene!
A year ago, Heather took the scissors to her own hair and we've been waiting a long time for it to grow out, but she was getting up in the morning looking like Medusa and she didn't like the mess so she asked me to cut it. I did a TERRIBLE job, poor girl. Looks like she did it herself. I felt so bad, but she just said, "Mommy, it will grow again."
ReplyDeleteHeather looks cute in whatever hairstyle she has. Isn't she the optomistic child! So true, it will grow again. And in the meantime, she still looks as beautiful as ever!
ReplyDeleteSo proud of your boys, being willing to sing, dance and speak clearly in public. Must be all that experience making horror films! Grampie would have loved it! They both look so tall! Heather looks cute, no matter what her hair length is! Love your tree. Do you keep past years leaves or are they new every year? What a great tradition! Happy Thanksgiving to all!
ReplyDeleteLoved the "Thankful Tree," what a great idea!
ReplyDeleteps. Heard about Wes and the car and the deer. So thankful that Wesley is okay and sorry that the car is not. Not sure on the fate of the deer...
xo auntie Laura
Love your blog's "new look" Darlene! And, I too admired the thankful tree...a good idea to have at school since we finish a tree unit at about the same time....hmmm....
ReplyDeleteHope you all had a great Thanksgiving and I know you and the kids will enjoy getting ready for Christmas!
Love,
Mary:)
I love how your blog snows!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to kick off the holiday season- Cole and Wayne DO look quite handsome, and Heather's hair actually looks quite super-modelish!!!
