We borrowed skis from the school for vacation.
This afternoon we tried them out. It was Heather's first time on skis. She did a great job, as long as I kept her in the flat driveway. When we tried to head up the trackster tracks into the field, she would fall and become a tangle of skis, poles, arms, and legs.
She really enjoyed it though and never got frustrated. She just wanted to keep trying.
There's Cole heading up into the field. He learned to ski last year.
Wayne has been skiing for several years and does a really good job. He likes to go fast.
Back inside, Heather and Patches fell asleep on the warm sunny couch.
I took this picture (below) earlier in the day. For a stray cat, Patches has turned out to be the best pet ever. She takes many rides in this baby carriage and seems perfectly content about it, even slightly amused by it. That is, until Spike comes charging into the room.

Great pictures! Ed and I really enjoy X-C skiing and hope to get Elijah trying them out maybe next winter or the one following. Your kids are so adventurous- always up for a new challenge! Hope we get a sneak peek at you all when we head up to Glover tomorrow :-)
ReplyDeleteSpike and Patches both always look like they are having fun with the kids - I love the picture of the boys skiing with Spike looking after them - very cute.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that you were able to borrow the skis for vacation week.
ReplyDeleteHeather is a real trooper to keep on trying. That picture of her and Patches asleep together on the couch shows just how hard she worked!
The picture of Wayne on skis with Spike makes Wayne look soooo tall!
Loved seeing Patches get a doll buggy ride around the house!
Have a wonderful vacation week!
