We can tack this on to our list of the "Last of the Firsts" - having Mrs. Dudley as kindergarten teacher. I was always hoping that she would not retire until all 3 of our kids had passed through her classroom. It looks like we're going to make it.
Yesterday, Heather had her individual classroom visit and some preliminary testing. Over the next week or so, before kindergarten begins, Mrs. Dudley will be testing each incoming student so she has an idea where everyone is starting off. I left Heather for the one hour testing and when I came back, Mrs. Dudley went over her results with me and kept using the words "phenomenal" and "incredible." Heather is already at a mid-year level for reading and literacy and even first grade level for much of the math.
Beauty and brains. What more could we ask for?

Oh my god, that's wonderful! I am not at all surprised by Heather's smartness. She has had two smart brothers that she had tagged along behind for years absorbing it all! Plus she has a Mommy who does all sorts of neat projects with her and a Daddy who teaches her how to stack wood! I bet there is some math involved with that!
ReplyDeleteGrammie, Uncle Dan, and I are so very proud of her.
I, too, am glad that Mrs. Dudley hasn't retired yet, as I think she is great, too!
Go, Heather!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou couldn't ask for anyone more sweet than Mrs. Dudley to be your K teacher!!!
