Heather Hunting

Heather just said that I should start a whole new blog that's just about her. I don't know about that, but here's a post that is all about her.
Every year at this time, she jumps onto the hunting bandwagon along with her brother, father, and uncles.  She wanted to take the hunter safety course this fall but we said wait another year or so.
In the meantime, she's taken over Wayne's BB gun and headed out to the forest in search of squirrels.
We had no school today because of Columbus Day. I don't think we've ever had it off before.

She did a lot of sitting, watching and listening, but never saw a good shot.
After a while she headed home.
Squirrels are safe until next time.

  1. With that orange cape, leggings, and high boots, Heather kind of reminds me of Robin Hood in the woods!

Well, Heather, I am amazed at all you can do!

I once took the Hunter Safety Course with perhaps Edwin. Went Target Shooting at the Range with perhaps my father. Even got a license. But never once actually hunted!

    It was a short career!

  2. I was just going to say that I think Lisa was the only brave one of us sisters...but I see Lisa did say that already--glad she could say it for sure!!
Wonderful pictures!! I bet Heather will be a good hunter!!!
    Love, Joanie
PS In Grammie's family, only Aunt Rita went out hunting. I guess there is a brave girl in every family!!

  3. Funny you think being surround by Wes, P & P I would have been interested but I don't think I ever was. More fun to stay at home with Mom. Great job Heather! When Estelle comes back from vacation I will show her these photos!
