Wayne I was sooo impressed with how wonderful you and the other district festival students performed. The Moscow song brought me to tears!! Music does that!! You looked sooo sharp! Congrats! I remember going to District festivals in Missisquo Valley and loving the experience (singing) How neat that you already knew the director!! He is talented as well! Love Mart
Two very different pieces. By watching all three videos, I can see what a variety of music they had to play for this concert. What a wonderful opportunity for Wayne!
Wayne, here's our questions: Why do the girls sitting on either of you have mutes in their trumpets but you don't for the "Ancient Voices" piece? Lena: "With what you were clapping on?" = [translation: what was everyone using to tap on the music stands] Estelle: "I loved those 2 pieces. I'll ask the same question as Léna." Julie: "What is the age range of the kids on stage? Was it just winds and percussion? Had you practiced these pieces individually in your schools before joining together for that one long day of rehearsing with everyone before the concert?"
Hi Julie, I'm not sure why the others have their mutes in. We were using pencils to hit our stands. It was just middle school students. It was just wind and percussion. We practiced them in our lessons but not as a school. Love, Wayne
