Joanie sold her house in the village...
and bought our "old" house on Drew Place...
which in turn, allowed us to buy Martha's big house - at a bargain price. Thank you Martha and thank you to everyone else in the family for all of your help, support, and patience in this matter. We feel very lucky and blessed to have such a beautiful home. Thank you, thank you, thank you, all very much.
In more run-of-the-mill news, the kindergarten class took a field trip to an apple orchard in Enosburg Falls on Friday.
I thought Heather was eating one apple, until I noticed several nibbled apples around her feet. Turns out she was taking one or two bites out of many different apples. Oh well. Maybe the orchard owners will think a little raccoon got into the falls.
The kindergarten class. That's Cole in the red hat. It was a really cold day.
From the orchard, we went on to a nearby farm where the kids got to milk a cow and see some really cute calves.
This one was interested in the flowers on Heather's hat.
Then the farmer lady took us for a walk through a very manure spotted pasture to see some of the jersey cows. Jerseys have a higher butterfat content to their milk. She sells her milk and cream to Ben and Jerry's. It's amazing how much commotion a group of kindergartners can make. These ladies were happy to watch us go so they could get back to their quiet afternoon.
When we got back to the farmhouse, we made some butter by shaking cream in this jar

Darlene, how did you manage to put that "SOLD" sign across the pictures of the houses! So cool! Congratulations on your closings! We are so happy for all of you!
ReplyDeleteHeather seems to fit right in with the kindergarten crowd! Cole's K class do lots of nice trips it seems!
Thomas and I are also VERY TRES impressed with the "sold" graphic. Never did get that blog tutorial from you!
ReplyDeleteLove the apple/farm trip and idea. Thomas had no idea that if you shake cream it turns into butter. I remember doing it on a field trip once too!
Strangely, I left a comment here last night but it appears to have disappeared!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the house closings!!!!
I just love Spike, he's so cute- I can't wait to meet him in person!
