Field Trip

Today the entire Glover School took a field trip to the Great Vermont Corn Maze in Danville.

Here's the kindergarten class, from left to right Zephyr, William, Grant, Heather in the back, Alayni, Zephyr's little brother Winter, Cole, Erika, and Ben and Wayne who abandoned the 2nd grade to join kindergarten. It's a good thing they did, because we actually made it through the maze from beginning to end (without even cheating). The second grade did not, so Wayne and Ben turned out to be heroes among their classmates. Let me tell you, this was no easy maze, and having to carry Heather 3/4 of the time did not help.

There we go...
Somewhere in the middle was this boat, mounted up high so you could see afar and ring a really annoying bell.
Finally, several hot and sweaty hours later...we made it out and got to ring another annoying bell.
The kids ate lunch...
You can tell from her knees and elbows that Heather took a few spills running through the maze, which is how I ended up carrying her.

There were lots of other things besides the maze to do at this place. There was miniature golf, a petting zoo, underground tunnels, and this cute little place called "Kid Village." See the little cabin?
This is Heather on the inside, Little House on the Prairie style.

This building was a big hit.

It's set up like a little old fashioned store.

Fake produce and everything. Hmm, school field trip, but I sure do have a lot of pictures of Heather.

Cole weighs some plastic veggies.
No, not from the maze, just more plastic. Kids were stealing the veggies from the "Trading Post" and then they would have to go to Jail.

Cute baby goats in the petting zoo. There were also calves and rabbits.
Wayne, Cole, and Heather had a great time, but came home exhausted and grumpy. Me too.

  1. What a wonderful field trip! I loved all the different little buildings they had at the corn maze for the children to play in. I also loved that they let Heather go along and that she could enjoy it too!

  2. Number One: Let's discuss the names "Zephyr" and "Winter". Explain the deal with that family immediately.
#2: I would much rather be in a corn maze, even grumpy, than in communism school where all you get is a swine flu flyer.

  3. Zephyr and Winter have an older sister named Apple, a baby brother named Haven, and another older brother whose name eludes me at the moment. 5 children all together and they are all stunningly beautiful. The older kids are home-schooled and there was some question about whether or not Zephyr would attend K this year or be home-schooled. Obviously, in the end they decided to have him attend Glover, not sure of their reasons.

  5. So the real question is was "Apple" born before Coldplay man + Gwenyth Paltrow's Apple?
