Wayne and Cole had a soccer game this morning. I didn't take pictures because it was so windy and rainy. This afternoon, they had a piano recital at their teacher's house, which is also where they take lessons. The lighting is bad and you'll have to turn your volume up if you want to hear what the teacher is saying, but if you have nothing better to do with the next 10 minutes of your life, here you go!
"When the Saints Go Marching In"
"I Am the King"
"Three and Twenty Pirates"
Heather just had her first piano lesson, so maybe next time there's a recital I'll have a video of her to share too.
Grammie says, "I am very impressed with Cole and Wayne."
ReplyDeleteLisa says, "I like how Cole has done his own variation of The Saints Go Marching. I am impressed with how well Wayne can play and his hands crossing over one another as he comes down the keyboard. I wonder what Heather thought of her first piano lesson?
Mom tipped me off that there was a new blog with the piano recital, so I quickly got to it....I couldn't believe how tall Cole looked, and loved hearing his own rendition. I was so impressed with Mrs. Perron's music theory-- or whatever you would call it--that she is teaching her students. I couldn't get over how much Wayne and Cole have both progressed from last year, doing so much more difficult pieces. Wayne, I loved your piece and how you did the hand crossing over part. I did not even know there were three kinds of minor scales, I only know that in shape note, I always love the minor songs the best. Loved it!! Thanks, Darlene for the videos. All that practicing pays off, Wayne and Cole!! And I did not know Heather had started lessons---Cool!!!

I can't watch this right now because everyone is asleep and my earphones are in the bedroom but I look forward to it, especially showing it to Estelle.
ReplyDeleteEstelle had to change teachers and she began last week with someone new - it is going to take some adjustment - this woman is a conductor of a children's orchestra, and a pianist and violinist. I just spent 35 dollars on a new book. Let's cross our fingers that someday Estelle will play as well as her cousins.
I love that I can see a Bread & Pupper poster in the background!
I noticed that Bread & Puppet poster, too!
ReplyDeleteAh, I finally had a quiet moment to enjoy these films. Great job to both boys. I cannot wait to show these to Estelle tonight. Maybe she will be more eager to practice. Also loved hearing Heather at the start of Video 1 whispering "I'm hungry".
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised you caught on to Heather's "I'm hungry." Where we were sitting, to our right was Alice's dining room table which was set up with snacks and refreshments. She was eyeing all the cookies and cakes the whole time we were sitting through the recital.
DeleteBTW, the shirt Wayne is wearing is one you sent for his birthday.
I just showed these videos to Estelle and Léna.
ReplyDeleteEstelle says: "It was nice to hear. And it was pretty, the songs that you two did. The Pirate song, and the King song, and the Saints song, was really good to hear. The way you played was nice."
Léna says: "Thank you letting your pianos practicing."
Estelle says: "The end."
