A warm and humid day caused one of the pear trees to explode with blossoms one moment when we weren't looking!
We've been keeping a close watch on this pair of mallard ducks. We would love to see ducklings swimming in our pond. I don't know if they would nest here or not. Probably they would prefer a quieter spot away from the daily visits from kids and dog. Actually, they don't seem to be bothered by us very much and only occasionally mildly annoyed with Spike.
And I just thought these were cute.

Those pear trees are just beautiful and ducks are my favorite animal. (Sorry, Spike and Patches!)
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day to Darlene and the ?ducks? Do you harvest those fiddleheads? I know there are some that are safe to eat and others that aren't but can't remember which is which? Love your photos of spring!!
ReplyDeleteDon't people eat those fiddleheads? I never have - I wonder what they taste like?
ReplyDeleteI feel like Carole Perron is an expert on edible fiddleheads - Darlene you should ask her! I feel like I remember her saying she would go out with her sister collecting them.
ReplyDeleteThe pear tree is stunning in your photos!
We may have a slight drop back into frosty weather, but isn't it just so great to have all these spring delights to look at!
