End of the Year - School Field Trips, Part 2

Whale's Tale Water Park

There is not a lot of work getting done in school these days. It's all about letting off some steam and having some fun. Wayne and his classmates took a trip into the White Mountains of NH to Whale's Tale Water Park.  There was no bus for this trip so parents had to volunteer to drive  and chaperone the group. Yours truly drove all the boys (Wayne, Ben, Asom, and Bailey) in the Red Devil. It was a tight fit, but they were great.
In the hot tub. We don't know who that curly haired pale kid is. He photo bombed us.
Shooting down a waterslide.
Wayne and Ben, on an inflatable raft, are ejected into a pool.

Some of Wayne's classmates.

I only had my phone with me as a camera and it takes very poor video. See that telephone booth thingy at the top. Wayne is getting into that. The floor drops out and you free fall down the slide. He has no fear. I'm not sure how I feel about that.
I didn't take very good pics so I lifted these from their website.

It was a fun day and we all came home exhausted and a little bit sunburned, only to have to head right back out the door to Wayne's baseball game. It was a home game against St. J. Wayne's team won. It was a good game.

This morning Heather's class put on a couple of skits. Here she plays "the silly hare" in a story about a rabbit who thinks the Earth  is about to crack in half. It was very cute.
I should mention here that Heather went on a field trip to the Montshire Museum. I was not able to go because I was still in preschool, but Wes crashed that party, surprising Heather when he got there. She also went to Kingdom Creamery and ate ice cream.

This afternoon Cole is on another field trip to Northwoods Stewardship Center learning about pond study. We already know all about that. Then Monday he has one more field trip to Elmore State park with his DCF Book group. They'll swim, hike, and canoe. The school librarian planned it as a thank you to the kids for reading all those books!

To top off the festivities, Tuesday is a half  (and the last)  day of  school and Mr. Paul, the long-term sub who stepped in when the science/math teacher suddenly threw in the towel a few months ago, is inviting the 7th grade class to Parker Pie for a pizza party.

What a life these kids have:
-drive a school bus up a mountain to look at a wind farm
-go canoeing with your school librarian
-sit in a hot tub surrounded by the white mountains
-eat ice cream after milking a cow.
-have pizza with your substitute science teacher

  1. Incredible amount of fun for three kids at Glover School! I am glad they are all having so much fun!

If I were Wayne, I would have never gone down that skinny tube into the water! He is so brave!

  2. I am never, ever showing this post to Estelle as she will immediately take her passport and hitch her way across the ocean to enroll at Glover School. Holy mackerel! That's so many fun field trips!
