Lake Days

A week at Shadow Lake. Some rain, some sun.
Some wildlife.

Early morning canoe ride. The lake was peaceful and misty.

Catching minnows to use as bait.

Windy swimming.

 Roasting marshmallows.

On a rainy afternoon, Heather plays dominoes.

Cole had been wanting to see the new Jurassic movie, so one rainy afternoon we went to the movies.
 There was a rainbow.
Wayne caught several perch.

After the rainstorm, it was very windy. Cole swims in rough waters. It looks like he's in the ocean.

Wayne fishes off the A- frame dock. Due to all the rain we've had, the water is higher than I've ever seen it.

This is what we got Wes for Father's Day. It's a 4 seat flotation thingy with 2 built in coolers and 4 cup holders. You could pack a lunch and drift around the lake all day. We left this at the camp. If anyone wants to use it, I have a pump that inflates and deflates it fairly quickly.
Wayne looks content here. Until he saw a spider, jumped ship, and swam for shore.
 Heather fishes off the dam.
This big frog by the A-frame dock was very friendly.
He hopped right into Heather's hand and when she tried to set him back in the water, he just snuggled more into the palm of her hand. I said that it must be her Prince Charming and she might have to kiss it. She didn't want to.

Wayne caught a catfish. It was really weird looking. I didn't know there were catfish in Shadow Lake. He threw it back.

Wayne had a couple of baseball games that we came out for. It gave Heather a chance to play with her cousin and classmate Jayden.  Jayden's brother, Tyler, is on the team with Wayne. Jayden is 2  days older than Heather.

 Water fights!

Thanks Stuart and Emilie. We had a great week.

  2. Wow...there are some great pictures, from dragonflies to Wayne at bat! I loved seeing all the various things you all did that week! And the floaty raft is too wild for words!! I love that you have this tradition of starting your summer with this special week.
