The apple trees are loaded.
Last weekend, we picked a tubful and made apple cider.
We used the food processor to grind them up a bit.
Then they went into the press.
Although there are a lot of apples, the rather dry summer means that they are not as juicy as they could be.
Today we picked more apples. I made apple pie filling for the freezer.
And Heather helped make apple sauce.
They house smells amazing.

I have not picked any apples yet this year, so was glad to see you hard at it! Interesting that the dry summer makes for less juicy apples.

ReplyDeleteLovely photos. The 3 seasons I miss in Vermont are all missed by me equally - though when each one happens, I think, oh if I could only be home just once again with my children to feel this season! And then the next season I think the same thing! Thank you for reminding me of what it was like to be in Vermont in September. Well done on all those apples!!!!
