Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day weekend started off on Saturday with the traditional planting of flowers at the cemeteries.

Heather had been at an overnight birthday party but she wanted me to come get her in the morning so she could help with the planting.  She was tired. They didn't get much sleep!
Cole had run a 5K in Hardwick just before coming to the cemetery.

Then, Monday morning, as usual, Wayne and Cole are in the parades. Here is the middle school marching band.
And this is Wayne's first year in the high school marching band.

Wayne and Cole both participated  in the Orleans parade and ceremony. Then Cole went on to Albany, as usual, but Wayne went to Glover with the high school. In Glover, he played Taps, but I didn't get to see because I went with Cole and Wes went with Wayne.

The Albany parade.  You've got to hand it to these small towns. They continue to try to honor their soldiers.

  1. It's 6:45 a.m. in France so you are all asleep but we are enjoying looking at all these photos! The marching band looks fun. That doesn't happen much anywhere in France that I know of. Léna is intrigued.

  2. So nice that both Wayne and Cole were involved in the the Memorial Day Marching Bands and that Heather helped at the cemetery, even though she was tired.
