Lake Region held their spring concert last night. The theme of the night was a tribute to Beyonce. I'm not particularly a fan, but I was surprised at what a nice concert it turned out to be. It featured her music and also the artists who were her musical influences, so there was a lot of jazz and R&B.
Dr. Doncaster is a very fun teacher. She has a great personality, full of enthusiasm for music, teaching, and her students. She encouraged the audience to sing along with all the songs, and even had the crowd "rehearse" some of the pieces before they began.
This was a busy evening for us. Heather had a softball game and Wes was the Ump. Cole had a track meet at North Country. And Wayne had this concert. Joanie made it to 2 of the 3 events: softball and concert!
It was such a great concert--I guess I had never been to one of Dr. D's pop concerts--what fun! And loved hearing all the solos/duet/trios, etc who sang--I was always glad when the singing and instrumental soloists were NOT wearing flowers, because you know they will be still be on the stage next year! And I am so proud of Wayne--especially the AT LAST solo--just so cool!!!It was great!
