Well, somehow this happened:
We named him Spike. That was Wayne's idea.
He's 8 weeks old, and at 8 lbs he is the runt of the litter. He looks bigger in these pictures than he actually is. Trust me, he's quite small. His brothers and sisters all weigh in at around 12 lbs right now. I always think the runt ends up making the best pet. Even though we didn't know Hogan as a puppy and he weighed 98 lbs. as an adult, I always suspected that he may have started out as the runt. Anyway, Spike is part German Shepherd (so smart) and part Lab (so sweet) so I'm not expecting him to stay too small for too long..jpg)

Spike is soooo cute. I can see how you all fell in love with the little runt!! My old custodian was named Spike!! I hope he will make an appearance at Grammies birthday party. He will be the highlight, but if it is too much excitment for him, I will have to come and see him for myself. Maybe he can snuggle up to Grammie for his birthday present to her!! Love, Mart
ReplyDeleteI just want to kiss him, he is so cute!!!!! I'll bet he has the best puppy breath. Can;t wait to meet him tomorrow!!!
ReplyDeleteI certainly am not interested in puppy breath but I do think he is cute. Not bad for a cat-disliker and an indoor-dog-fearer! Yeah for you! German shepherd AND lab! A great mix!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fluffy dollbaby! Cute, cute pic of Wayne and Spike!
ReplyDeleteI am not too fond of dogs (except for the Fenway Park variety) but must admit that Spike is rather cute.
ReplyDeleteDarlene, it was nice to see your family this week!
We met Spike in person today and we thought he was cute! And this is coming from a Grammie that really doesn't like dogs and an aunt who likes them when they are as cute as Spike!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the new baby!
I think Spike is lucky!! And I loved to hear that Sparkle also had found a new home by the time you got Spike!! Cole said he is also part cat, which he deduced after feeling his sharp claws!

Good luck with puppy house training. Caitrin did most of the work when we first got Moses. She slept next to his crate at night and trained him to "go" outside...lots of work but well worth it. Moses was a special soul-mate for our family as I am sure Spike will be!
