Glover School Variety Show

Instead of a regular spring concert, Glover School held a variety show, featuring musical performances, jump rope routines, gymnastics, and unicycle riding.

Heather and friends played "We Will Rock You."

Cole and his friend Simon (who is somehow a Perron) played Superstition. (Joanie is Cole's biggest fan!)

It was a fun night for talented kids and proud parents.

More Easter

Wes took the kids to Easter Vigil Saturday evening in Newport, so Sunday morning was free time for Easter fun.

Easter morning baskets: Spike is sad that chocolate is poison for dogs. The Easter Bunny tried to find some healthy options for Cole's basket.
Later, over to Joanie's house for dinner. We enjoyed meeting Katie's friend, Jim. He was a lot of fun.

We had beautiful weather with temps in the 70s so a lot of time was spent outside enjoying the sunshine.
And now, Wes and the kids head into vacation while I head off to work!

Cole's Saxophone Solo

The OCSU (Orleans Central Supervisory Union) Middle School had their concert on Friday evening. It is usually held at Lake Region on a Saturday, but for various reasons had to be rescheduled and relocated to Barton School. Cole played a solo in this piece called, "Red Sky at Night."

Lucky 13

Mother Nature is playing a cruel April Fool's Birthday joke on us with this snow storm. Cole and I made the best of it with an early morning snowshoe.

Cole got some new clothes because he has grown a lot.
Anyone a fan of "The Office" tv series?
Every year Wes gives him this coupon.

Wayne made him a chore pass book.

Cole  requested lean turkey burgers and salad for his dinner. I also found a recipe for healthy chocolate cake and peanut butter frosting. Were had dinner with Joanie and Grammie. The "healthy" cake was not a big hit. Heather didn't like it. Joanie said, "Well it was a good effort." Grammie said, "You could freeze it," and Cole himself said it was terrible.

Happy Birthday Cole! We love you very much!

Wayne's Concert

Lake Region will have their big spring concert in a few weeks, but they had smaller show this week called "New Classics." I don't have my program handy so no titles or descriptions but if you're interested in giving a listen, head over to YouTube.

Glover Talent Show - Slab City

Here is a little video featuring Joanie's skit at the Glover Talent Show.  It's in 2 parts because my memory card filled up and I had to quickly delete some things to make room for more video!

History Fair

Last night was the history fair, held at North Country High School.
Cole worked with classmate Erica, studying two Vermont women who were women's right to vote activists.

It turned out to be quite a family night. Aimee and Tyler organize the event. They are not the judges, so they had nothing to do with Cole and Erica winning a cash prize. I'm not sure what category they won.

Our little Glover Community School had a very strong showing at this event, with students placing in a majority of categories. Glover, Glover, Glover...I think people were getting tired of hearing Glover place in all those categories. Too bad for them.

Cole and Erica did a great job. We are very proud of them!

Heather and the Junior Hoops Champs

Heather played basketball this season with a very talented group of girls. They were undefeated during the regular season. The only game they lost was during the rotary tournament in Newport, playing against a team which some told me recently, was at least partly composed of 7th and 8th graders. (Jr Hoops is 3rd -6th grades)

Last weekend (and I mean ALL weekend) they ended their season with the league tournament at Lake Region. Below, the line up is announced and we all stand for the national anthem.
 Game time.

 Strategizing during half time

One by one, they knocked off every team they played...

Until they were the last ones standing. Lake Region Junior Hoops Champions!

 And a pizza party afterwards.
Heather really bonded with her teammates this year. She was sad that the season was over.
