A Visit to Grammie

Wes took Wayne and Cole to visit Grammie, Lisa, and Dan this weekend. And Thanks to Dan, I have these pictures to show you of their trip.

Looks like Grammie's been reading to them here. I can't tell, but those little books look like the Beatrix Potter series.

Dan said that here, Wayne is using something called a TruVue. It had probably belonged to Dan's Uncle Jack and dates back about 1940. Wayne and Cole enjoyed viewing black and white 3D filmstrips throught it. I'd like to see that thing sometime.
Lisa took the boys on a little outing. When Wayne and Cole came home the first thing they told me when they came through the door was that Aunt Lisa had taken them to 3 different playgrounds!
Wes and his mom. Are my kids going to ourgrow me like this? Actually, come to think of it, Wayne is already almost as tall as I am. Let's not think about it.
It sounded like the boys really enjoyed their visit. They had hotdogs and homemade macaroni and cheese and best of all, cake! Thanks for sending some home for Heather and me, Lisa. Can't wait to dig into that, although, Cole is already trying to finagle a deal with me about having some himself!
Meanwhile, back here at Elijah's Place, Joanie came over with some dinner (bowtie pasta with chicken and sundried tomato alfredo sauce) and she and Heather made a salad (spinache, pears, pecans, and bleu cheese) and we had a girl's night in. For dessert we had her world famous brownies with Ben and Jerry's Berry sorbet. Yum! How strange it was to be able to have a conversation with Joanie without W&C interrupting and taking over. Thanks Joanie!

I guess we all had a great weekend, but it's back to reality tomorrow.
By the way, those of you who bought tickets from Wayne's school's winter activities fundraiser - remember, there is a drawing everyday throughout the month of February, and if you win, your name gets thrown back in so you can win again. Good luck.

  1. I would like to say that Wayne and Cole are the best behaved little boys around! They clear their dinner plate, say "please" and "thankyou", have delightful imaginations and are very thoughtful.

Grammie read a story to Cole and helped Wayne put a puzzle together.

The boys and I had a wonderful time at the school and town playgrounds. Anna played Titanic with the boys. Wes was his usual jolly self. We even watched an episode of "Highway to Heaven" last night!

Darlene, thankyou for sharing the men in your life with us!

  2. See, Darlene, and you were worried Cole would be a picky, ungrateful eater!! You have raised him up even better than you knew! What was this beautiful music anyway? I will check!
It was fun to have a dinner with Darlene and Heather!

  3. FUNDRAISER? WHAT? And no one let me buy a ticket so I could win 100 dollars again?
Darling photos, I am now thinking about a pear and blue cheese salad. And it is 8 a.m.

  4. This music is from a soundtrack to a Peter Rabbit annimated series that was made in the UK back in the 90's. I've scoured the internet trying to find where I can buy CD a of the music and the DVD of the animated series, but it doesn't seem to be for sale anywhere, except in th UK. I was thrilled to find some of the music on this website. The soundtrack is called "The World of Peter Rabbit" by Colin Towns.

  5. P.S. the Peter Rabbit animated series was directed by one of the same people who directed "The Snowman."

  6. Thanks Grammie, Dan, Lisa and Supernanny Anna for a great stay. As Wayne put it on the way down, you have a "really nice house". Thanks for taking us all in.

  7. Great pictures! Grammie looks wonderful, and happy to see all those boys. And Darlene, sounds like you have a nice, "Girls Only" weekend. I'll say it again- I just cannot get over how BIG W & C are getting.
