It wasn't exactly a warm day, but the sun was beautiful and we've all been craving some outdoor fun, so what better to do than head to the beach?
We packed a picnic lunch.
Joanie joined us after a little bit.
Wayne was home "sick" with a cough and cold.
He and Spencer were busy, busy, busy with building sand castles. We couldn't find many of our beach toys, so we just used some plastic containers.
Wayne's castle.
Spencer's castle.
They dug a long trench from their castles to the lake and then filled it with water.
Heather kept herself busy digging holes.
It's amazing how some water and some sand can entertain kids for the longest time. Why do we even bother to spend money on anything more complicated?

The school nurse thinks all that fresh air is just what Wayne needed to get better!!! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice outing, Darlene! Makes me long for summer!
ReplyDeleteEstelle is looking forward to that beach with her cousins!
ReplyDeleteI'll ask this question again...WHO is SPENCER?????
ReplyDeleteWayne doesn't look too sick to me, haha! Maybe he caught wind that you might go to the beach today?
Sandy, Spencer is a 4-year-old boy I've been watching during the day. His 1st grade brother also comes over after school.
ReplyDeleteCole was furious when he found out we went to the beach without him.
I agree Darlene, I taught my students how to play Spit with a deck of cards the other day and they all loved it so much. Much better than the constant computer games! xo auntie L
ReplyDeleteI love the beach, cool weather or not! Looks like you all had a fun outing!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog:)
