For our week at Stuart and Emilie's camp, we had nothing but sun, heat and gentle breezes. It was the best week ever. We spent lots of time in the water swimming, kayaking, canoeing, and fishing.
Wayne caught this fish while swimming.
Heather had her friend Anya over for an afternoon. On the previous day, Wayne had a friend over as well, but I didn't get pictures for some reason.
Toasting marshmallows and s'mores.
Jacob came and spent a night.
When Wayne and Jacob get together, you know there has to be a wiffle ball tournament in the works. Wayne, Jacob, and Cole were the Pirates. Mary, Danny, Wes, Heather, and I were the other team, but I'm not sure what our name was.
If the batter hit the ball into the water, it was an automatic home run. Wayne and Jacob always hit home runs. Cole even hit a home run or two.
Mary did a great job as pitcher.
Guess who has 29 and who had 5. The youngsters did end up winning, but luckily the end score was a more respectable 27 to 32 or something like that. Wayne and Jacob even made a new trophy.
It's strawberry season.
This is the life.
Loons were around almost every day. They came very close and were not bothered much by our swimming and fishing.
Getting ready for a bike ride. (On a side note, this is one little work-horse-of-a-bike. All 3 of my kids learned to ride on that bike, Jacob had it before us, and Mary said she thinks she got it from the Graves kids.)
She rode up and down Stone Shore Road. She felt like she was on a huge journey and kept asking how long it was going to take to get back to camp. She felt like such a big girl.
Cole had his friend Grant over for some fishing and swimming.
They caught four fish, kept 3. I'm not sure what these are.
Throughout the week, Wayne caught several fish including this 11 and a half inch small mouth bass.
It's hard to see in this picture, but this fishing bag had a ruler printed on it for measuring fish.
And one last night of campfire and s'mores.

ReplyDeleteWhat fun, and that is so great that you had the best weather possible!! Darlene, that last photo is so beautiful. That scoreboard for the wiffle ball sure makes it looks official (and that you officially were trounced!). I loved hearing that Heather went for those bike rides!!!! What a great start to summer!!
