Busy Weekend

It's been a busy weekend. It started off Saturday morning at 9:00 with a T-ball game. This is Cole's very first t-ball game, ever. Let's just say, it's a good thing Wes is the coach so Cole can get in some extra practice sessions at home. Actually he did quite well. You can tell from the swing in this picture that Wes has already been training him.
Wayne is an old pro. He smacked a few good, hard line drives out to center field. By the way, you don't see the batting T in these pictures, because in this league, the coach throws 5 pitches and if the player hasn't hit yet, then out comes the T.
It was such a cold day, that everyone had to wear jackets over their uniforms. It was freezing.
Then after lunch, Joanie came and took the boys to do some "greening up."
They found a lot of beer cans and bottles.
When Heather was up from her afternoon nap, she, her brothers, Joanie, and I went to Runaway Pond to clean up the area. Joanie had seen a lot of mess there a few days ago, but when we got there, someone had already done a nice job of picking up. Still, we filled one garbage bag.
In this picture, Heather is telling Cole all about Runaway Pond.
Today we went to the home of Wayne's piano teacher, along with about 10 other of her young students for what she called a "piano playing party." Sort of a casual type of recital. I'm sorry to say, that I have no pictures of that because the camera wouldn't work. He did a beautiful job on the little song that he played. It was fun to hear some of the kids who have been taking lessons longer, like Dante and Sophia. We had some refreshments and got a chance to meet some of the other students and parents. And thanks to Heather's restlessness, Wes and I alternately got a chance to tour the grounds of Alice Perron's home.
We'll all be sleeping well tonight.

  1. So much fun in one weekend! Wow!

First let me say, that both Cole and Wayne look very professional with their baseball swings. Wes has trained them well.

Secondly, how does Heather know how to read signs so young?

In New Hampshire, we don't have a statewide Green up Day, but many towns set aside a day to pick up trash.

I would have loved to hear Wayne at his recital. What a special time for all of you.

    Love, Lisa

  2. Hey, Mom did you notice the "grabber" that Cole was using to greenup? It worked great!! (Wes' idea, I think.)And notice also the marsh marigolds that surround Wayne in one of the photos...we saw lots of other spring flowers...spring has arrived even in the Northeast Kindom!

  3. Did you go leave all the beer cans in Brian's driveway so he could get his deposit back?
    Heather is darling.
Estelle enjoyed these photos over her Cheerios. I remind her daily that when she comes to visit her cousins she will have to speak in English all the time. She says "Yes, je vais parler en anglais avec WaynenCole parce que il ne parlent pas francais." We can't believe she can say all that in either language and understand what it means!

  4. Haha, Julie about the beer cans!

I think it's great that the kids get into "Green Up Day" so young. Coming from a state where roadside trash is virtually considered ornamental...it's so nice to live in clean, green Vermont!
