We decided to go "the back way" to Shadow Lake camp. Wayne had walked here with Joanie the other day and they saw some loons on the lake, so now he's all, "I want to go to Shadow Lake Camp," all the time. It was a great day, so while Wes wrestled with the van to get the power steering belt back on, Wayne and I headed out.
It was a quick hello,
and good-bye. We had to get back for baseball practice.
Reality will hit hard in the morning - back to school for these guys.

I thought maybe you had gone to Maine. So so so so so so so sorry to hear about the car breakdown. Can only imagine. Would take lice over a car breakdown with 2 kids in the rain in another state anyday. Ouch. Poor you. Glad you got to see your parents though.
ReplyDeleteAnd glad you got to see Shadow Lake!
Well, I guess the one good thing would be that the day we were driving back turned out to be warm and sunny. When the car started clunking around, I was able to pull off into a scenic turnout with picnic tables and a view of the still snowy Mt. Washington. Could have been a lot worse. We had snacks, juice, and the DVD player - everything you need in an emergency.
ReplyDeleteWayne is so strong to be able to ride his bike all the way to Shadow Lake Camp and back! I am very impressed!
ReplyDeleteI am sorry that your trip to Maine didn't work out as well as you had planned. But, I am glad that you got to see your parents
