Perfect Days

These are the kind of days we'll want to remember.

Today we took the kids to the annual Glover Easter Scramble. It didn't feel like April 3rd. It felt more like July 3rd. There were a lot of happy kids out there scrambling around the playground in search of Easter candy.
Heather was delighted with her loot.
The Easter Bunny was on hand to oversee the festivities.
Here is Cole's age group in on their "scramble" for candy. You can barely see Cole behind the kid in green.
There were sack races. There's Cole in the grey shirt.
Wayne's age group does a sack race.
Egg races - the kids had to hold an egg on a spoon, hopefully without dropping it.
There was even some egg decorating.
Then at home we dyed some more eggs. It was such a beautiful day that I had the kids do it outside on the picnic table.
Cole gets creative.
Heather dyes her hands more than any eggs.
The finished products.
The day ended with some kite flying.
The speck in the lower right is Cole and the speck in the upper left is a kite that one of Cole's friend's gave him for his birthday. Unfortunately, I had to call him in for dinner from this.

Happy Easter.

  1. What a lovely day you had yesterday!

Things I exclaimed about were: Heather's hands, the beautiful dyed eggs in the carton, and the kite flying.

Does Glover Rec run all of the Easter festivities at the playground or is that run by the school.

I loved all the relay races.

    What fun!

    Happy Easter!

  2. Cute kids!
But that's the meanest looking Easter Bunny I've ever seen. I hope his parole officer was nearby.

  3. GREC sponsors the Easter Scramble but we outsource the organization of it to someone else. It has nothing to do with the school other than being held there.

I had volunteered Wes to wear the Bunny costume, but somewhere there was a miscommunication and another lucky guy got to wear it. Wes was really disappointed. Ha,Ha.

  4. Somehow we missed saying goodbye to Joanie, you and the kids today - maybe you were on a walk? Anyway, it was good to see you again! Great pics of yesterdays activities... it was such a beautiful day!

  5. Sounds like Wes just barely missed out on an opportunity to wear a big, hot costume out in the blazing sunshine on a July-like day!

    Beautiful weekend all around!!!
