Cousin Jacob came to spend a couple days with us this weekend. Wayne and Cole were in Star Wars heaven. As you can see, Jacob brought all his costumes and light sabers with him. Here is Wayne as Anakin, Jacob as Obi Wan, and Cole as Queen Padme (pronounced Pad-may).
In the movies, Padme is played by the beautiful Natalie Portman, so I dug out this Halloween wig of long brown hair so Cole could look more like her.
You can see the resemblance.
The van stood in as a space craft.
The actors take a break for lunch. And yes, that is a neanderthal skull in the center of the table. You never know what you'll find at our house...
On Sunday, a break from Star Wars for some go cart racing and miniature golf.
Wayne was all at loose ends yesterday after Jacob went back home. Complaining of boredom and not knowing what to do with himself. School in 13 days.
Wow! What a fun time with Jacob and Star Wars! I was very impressed with all the costumes, especially Cole's wig!
ReplyDeleteWes looks so big next to Cole in the go cart!
Cole will be talking with a therapist, someday, about his really bad hair day and didn't look too happy playing Padme. Hee Hee! I would be sad, too, if I was Wayne, as his summer has been sooo full of so many fun things to do! Can't wait to see the screening of the new Star Wars!
ReplyDeleteJacob really enjoyed looking at these photos. Cole's resemblance to Padme was striking (we got a good chuckle out of that one). Tell Wayne that we are all mourning the loss of the carefree summer days now that school is peeking around the corner. Endings are always hard, but beginnings can be exciting too. Thanks again, Darlene and Wes, for a wonderful weekend for Jacob!
